Paul Bettany's in Wimbledon with Kirsten Dunst. Paul Bettany.

My single distinction was my A2 in Lit. First time, too. I've been getting like 50% in all my past tests/exams.

I'll be busy trying to regulate my sleeping hours in the next few weeks.

P.S. Grow my hair out or cut it Beatles-esque?

The possibility.

Hey. I totally want to watch Sky Captain & the World of Tomorrow, cause I mean, Jude Law, retro!futuristic, so cool. But won't be able to. Dammit.

Oh but, Gwyneth Paltrow as annoying reporter type love interest, and Angelina Jolie as faked British accent eyepatched commander person? No thanks sort of thing.

Meant to indulge in the 50 Things About Me You Really Don't Need To Know meme, but couldn't go on at #23. And now. If you can't sleep at night do you have insomnia? What a question.

Havea.

If you're wanting, <strike>two hundred and twenty</strike> three hundred and four Death To Smoochy caps.

Trainspotting: if I wanted a drug movie I'd watch Fear & Loathing, maybe even Samurai Champloo 9. But but. Hee. Skinny & Scottish accented Ewan, Begbie violence, the kinda nice soundtrack. ...yeah. :>

Ten things that need to be said, but never really will be, addressed to anyone - living, dead, imaginary, regardless of whether they exist or you exist or either one of you know of the aforementioned.

01. I wish wish wish I had been a better person, could've gotten to know you better, could've lived with you through to secondary school. It would've been great. We had the love, we did. :)

02. I want you to come back and say oh hey remember me? You had the fucking blackest curls and eyelashes. I would love to see you again, see how you are and things.

03. You are the one person I've ever had a simmery kind of annoyance/anger at. I don't know man. I love you still.

04. You said hi to me and I remember things like that. It's cool.

05. If you were here. If you were here I would totally hunt you down and get to know you. :>

06. I think you're a piece of shit and I don't know how you live with yourself but then I never could understand how people like you go through life.

07. I don't think you'll ever grow up.

08. Oh wow I think you and I should have a scandal. :>

09. I hope hope hope you've forgotten me.

10. I think you're the shit.

edit Trainspotting has made me go all lovey over tight tapered jeans. It's super hot. Oh wow. Hold on let me think this through a bit.

It's no longer oh-just-a-soft-spot for Kra. So.. fullblown fanaticism, yes.

And hey, I recall really liking the recent Versace ads. I have to find magazines or catalogues or something.

Things to do in this week before I have to start studying again!
<strike>1. Finish Beauty & The Beast.</strike>
<strike>2. Watch Trainspotting.</strike>
<strike>3. Watch & cap Death To Smoochy.</strike>
4. Make a skirt.
<strike>5. Finish Ambush At Fort Bragg</strike> & burn another copy for Shimona.
6. Finish tee-heeing over The Full Monty.
7. Find a lj name that isn't darjeeling :<
<strike>8. There was this really great mmorpg that you could play in a MSN conversation window, and it had a really, really good secret inside thing that had to do with angels and when we found out what it was we were all omg!! that's so clever and really good! Aand then I switched dreams to this one I've been having a lot about being in Japan, aha.

I'm really into shoes now. And mintgreen retro type skirts.
I talk about the weather.

And so, with my dad's Phil Collins cd on we drove past a road up which a man carrying an umbrella was walking and it looked like it might lead right up to Mt Asakusa; and neighbourhoods that looked so terrifically Australian; and there was a rainbow because it rained with the sun out. We went to eat at this Thai restaurant that was featured in the papers recently. The tom yam soup was the best I've ever tasted, and if you drink three spoonfuls (which was all I could handle) and then stop for a moment, the sour-sweet-heat will hit the top of your mouth and throat. I couldn't finish my (tiny) bowl, but it was so damn good. Have to say: I love Singapore the same way I love MGS.

Go to this post, the part just above the screencaps, and try telling me that is not the coolest. thing. ever. I'm really leaning to a Beatles one because they're instantly recognizable, and they're fun & quirky so it'd be cool. And you know how those rock bands with bad lyrics like to squeeze everything into this tiny room and then jump around a lot and lean in close to the camera? That'd be fun too. So please please please please PLEASE let's do it!

(Also a bit down the page someone comments on how they'd like to make videos for songs that don't have one.)

It's mad to be up this early, we left for breakfast an hour earlier, and the prata was so good but the curry was so thin you couldn't feel it in your mouth.

I have Shoxx, and it has:

1. Plastic Tree happyhappy.
2. A clear shot of that Doremidan guy with the hot lips and nice hair, so I can bring it the next time I go for a haircut.
3. Kra! My soft spot will not stop growing.

Shiina Ringo has absolutely the coolest kickass videos ever. And she's very pretty, and her music is so cool.

I got a haircut on Sunday. It's ok.

And. It seems I spend most of my day sleeping but I am still not getting enough sleep. '_'

edit And also, recently:

1. Nip The Buds, Shoot The Kids by Kenzaburo Oe. It has sex, and it will rape you so very badly.
2. Micro Fiction, an anthology of short short stories (< 250), entries to The World's Best Short Short Story Contest.
Oh please don't make me go back.

I tell you.

I tell you.

Swordsex!

01. My name is: sam.

02. I may seem: Quiet, awkward, hardworking, pushover. A good girl.

03. But I'm really: more awkward than you think i am, definitely a pushover, maybe not as quiet, a complete sloth. I also think bad thoughts.

04. People who know me: No one knows me! I am misunderstood!

05. If you knew me you'd think that I'm: awkward.

06. Sometimes I feel: tired. panicky (I drink tea when that happens), lonely, full of self-hate, full of world-hate, immensely happy, nothing-can-hurt-me-here/now type happy.

07. In the morning I: wake up. I believe this is unique.

08. I like to sleep: but I tend to do it only in the afternoons, and for short periods of time. I get this feeling I'm wasting time.

09. If I could be doing anything right now it would be: Stencilling. Shopping. Studying with all my heart and soul!! No really.

10. Money: is always on my wishlist.

11. One thing I wish I had is: time.

12. One thing I have that I wish I didn't have is: responsibility.

13. All you need is: (i concur) love!

14. All I need is: money. :3

15. If I had one wish it would be: to walk forever on a particular stretch of road, and it would be forever five o'clock.

16. Love is: all you need.

17. My body is: deceitful and flabby.

18. If an angel flew into my window at night I would: freak out. Feel nice inside.

19. If a demon crashed into my window at night I would: clutch the Bible and pray hard.

20. If I could see one person right now it would be: ... I. don't know.

21. Something I want but I don't really need is: Money.

22. Something I need but I don't really want is: Willingness to work.

23. I live for: five o'clock & coming home. Busrides. The future.

24. I dare you all to: elope.

25. I am afraid of: everything, but disappointing tops the list.

26. It makes me angry when: I feel guilty. I feel wanting. People are unnecessarily rough/violent.

27. It makes me happy when: I walk home at five o'clock. When I see people on the bus I'd take pictures of. When people show their love. When I show my love.

28. I daydream about: The Little Mermaid. Going shopping. Making clothes. Living in Japan. Moving to the moon.

29. I am attracted to: Lips. Hot hair. Good writing. The colour green. Good artstyles. Ease. The colour white. The colour yellow. The colour grey. Blue skies with enough clouds for contrast. Sunnyday shadows. Sun in eyes. Unusual metaphors. Puns. Boys with totes.

30. I am not attracted to: Overenthusiasm. Shitgold dyed hair. People who like to pick fights. Um, apple strudel.
:O INUKAI SUMMIT?! THREE?! In Japan apparently there are whole CONVENTIONS, that is, HALLS FULL OF RAVING FANGIRLS and an ENTIRE DAY SET ASIDE in dedication to the inukai love! I am both appalled and enthralled.

Champloo 9, you are my favourite episode ever and I rank you up there with Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas.

After months of waiting Death Note is finally out, in stores that is, and Ryuuku is so totally my favourite character.

edit I have been wanting Infernal Affairs. Let's go watch all three movies when we're good and free again.

Nietzsche.

For personal reference mostly, but if you were ever interested. I'm trying to take down the main whazzits, to kind of get it all in understandable-to-me order because the author writes like a don't-know-what I suppose it can't be helped it's a Very Short Intro and thus must be highly condensed, and am adding on as I go along.

- "How can existence be made bearable, once we grasp what it is really like?"
- "What is it in us that urges us always to seek the truth?"
- "the most optimistic expression of a pessimistic world-view".
- "not to give pain an automatically negative role in life; at the same time "possessed a vision of the world as a place of horror."

1.
Apolline - the beautiful appearance.
Dionysiac - the intolerable reality.

"...he compares Apolline art (sculptures, paintings, epics) with dreams; Dionysiac art (music, tragedies) is aligned rather... with intoxication (Rausch), the low way in which the principle of individuation is felt to be overcome, the loss of clarity, and the mergiing of individualities."

2.
Anti-rationalist.

Wissenschaft - knowledge, science, "systematic investigation".
Weisheit - wisdom, instinct.

"...in all productive people instinct is the power of creativity & affirmation, and consciousness assumes a critical and dissuasive role, in Socrates instinct becomes the critic, consciousness the creator- a monstrosity..." - Birth of a Tragedy.

3.
Apolline-Dionysiac duality.

"'These two very different tendencies walk side by side, usually in violent opposition to one another, inciting one another to even more violent births,' until they seem 'at last to beget the work of art that is as Dionysiac as it is Apolline- Attic tragedy.'"

"The pleasure produced by the tragic myth has the same origin as the pleasurable perception of dissonance in music. The Dionysian, with its primal pleasure experienced even in pain, is the common womb of music and tragic myth." - Birth of a Tragedy.

I finally have my Nietzsche (well, A Very Short Introduction), but I passed up Harold Pinter for a collection of Finnish short stories because it's (not!)Finnish! And more useful to me. However, there is no book on crocheting in the Westmall library. I'm deeply disappointed. How is it the most exciting thing to happen to me in weeks is a trip to the library? Something needs to be done. I say we put up swastika posters all over the walls in school, and put little fish into the beakers in the science lab. (The underwear thing and the soap dispenser and water cooler things are lovely as well, but I'm very much more into swastikas/fish than underwear or soap dispensers or water coolers at the moment.)

In other news:
1. SanaYuki, jellyfish. Am unable to grasp dynamics of relationship; am afraid shall have to watch more Tenipuri.
2. Eggs are suddenly very rare and expensive. My mother is sad as she cannot bake cakes.
3. Yes. This is the cutest thing you've ever seen. Crocheted sushi!

edit Yes, Snape. That you are. XD

Illegal yes!

There's a song on the Dandy Warhols' Dandys Rule OK CD called It's A Fast Driving Rave Up With The Dandy Warhols Sixteen Minutes and it's sixteen minutes and oh four seconds long.

The Village: it's v. pretty and the music is lovely. Admittedly, the perpetual non-abbreviated dialogue got to me at first, and when she emerged from the woods- well, it's a pretty hard story to pull off non-laughably I think, and he did it well because I only felt like laughing, and only for a very brief moment, too.

Adrien Brody Brody Brody! I never thought too much of him up till now, yes now, when he acts as a retard. My falling in love moment was when he drooled. Swoon! Am serious.

Have I mentioned my sister is into Super Dollfies? She got one at the beginning of the year, and at the moment several dollfie owners are over at my house making their dolls do unmentionable things to each other, also their dolls are male and are dressed in fishnet and black leather, a lot like their owners actually.

p.s. softplaces and I are making a making of a movie.

Lately:

Asada Hiroyuki. His style's something of a cross between Kubo Taito's and Obata Takeshi's: really cool but not as masculine as Kubo's, much dreamier than Obata's. He loves sun and shadows and big concrete places with lots of sky. You will fall in love with every one of his characters.

edit Dear self: could you be any less motivated? Prelims are in a week, you ass.

Things you'll get done by the end of this week:
<strike>1. The Venice chapter.</strike>
<strike>2. Crescent Girls' AM 1 & 2.</strike>
<strike>3. Gather Biology notes into a neat ready-to-study pile.</strike>

And for the record? I've decided I want to go work for National Geographic.
